Today's podcast has a special guest, Vince Vawter.  Mr. Vawter retired after a 40-year career in newspapers, most recently as the president and publisher of the Evansville (Ind.) Courier & Press. Mr. Vawter is a published author of two books and his debut novel, PAPERBOY, received a Newbery Honor award in 2014. The story is based on his real-life experience growing up in the 1950s as a person who stutters. We discuss the origins of  his stutter, his family history, speech therapy, and his advice for  parents and teachers.  Mr. Vawter speaks at local schools and is an inspiration to stutterers and non-stutterers.
