On November 13, 2023 at 9:55pm, our lives changed forever. Our 20 year old son, Ethan, was killed by a drunk driver (driving with no headlights) on his way home from the gym a mile from our home. The experience of losing a son to a drunk driver is unbearable and heartbreaking. Words cannot adequately express the anguish of grief, which is an unbearable, never-ending ache in the heart. It's a journey into the inconceivable, negotiating a world that has never been the same.
But in the midst of all of the outpouring support, this unwavering support has been a bright light in this dark time. The consolation has come from the compassion, understanding, and kindness of people who care. The ties of friendship turn into lifelines during these trying moments, guiding one through the sadness. Their existence is evidence of the strength of human connection, whether it be through consoling words or quiet company.
The importance of moving forward for me and my family is now my goal and Ethan's memory is the only thing that gives light to this darkness. Thank you again to all of you for your support and love.
